Globaltech Consultants Inc. is building TLDO software solution which will help customers load data into their Oracle Applications staging, test & production environments. The product will use the open interface features provided by Oracle Applications to pre validate and load data into various Oracle Applications tables. This product will help customers reduce time, effort and cost to load data. This had traditionally been achieved by writing code, manually keying in data and uses products like data-loader which are slow and cumbersome to use.
The open interfaces provided by Oracle for its Oracle Applications / E Business Suite of products facilitate customers to load data into Oracle Applications (for example purchase orders into Oracle Purchasing, Inventory Items into Oracle Inventory, Sales Orders into Oracle Order management etc.). Oracle provides very extensive documentation and validation requirements for loading data using these interfaces and using these interfaces is extremely overwhelming for lay users, hence the need for a product like TLDO which attempts to hide the complexity in the user friendly layer which lets users load/ key in data in a spreadsheet like user interface using common methods like cutting and pasting data from excel spreadsheets or text files. In the absence of products like TLDO, customers are forced to rely on developers to write code to validate and load data using these open interfaces or use cumbersome front end data load tools.
The TLDO system will facilitate the following operations for each of these categories.
- Provide pre built templates to compile data.
- Provide list of valid values from target environment.
- Pre validate data prior to attempting a load.
- Load data into open interface tables.
- Provide reports about errors and failures.
- Permit users to re load data after corrections are made.
The TLDO System provides the management with user friendly means to load data into Oracle Applications.
The solution will be offered for all Oracle Applications open interfaces in a phased manner. Since validation and data elements for each open interface vary, each data validation template will be offered as an add-on to the base product. |
